In Year 6, children do PE on a __. Please ensure all kit is labelled clearly and is in school for the first week of a term. Kit will be sent home regularly for it to be cleaned.
Homework books will be sent out each Friday. Children should complete two of the tasks from the pick and mix sheet (1 Maths and 1 other) and return by the following Wednesday to be checked by the teacher.
Children will receive spellings on a Friday in their spelling book. These should be taken home and practised over the week. Children will need to return their books to school on a Friday for their test and new spellings.
In Year 6, children have the responsiblity of changing their own books as and when they need to. They access the reading library during the morning session and are encouraged to change their book regularly. In Year 6 children should aim to read at least 4 nights at home. Adults and children are encouraged to sign the reading record book to show that they have done reading at home.
In May, all children in Year 6 will be sitting statutory assessments called SATs. They will be assessed formally in Maths and English. Booster sessions are taking place in school, please speak to your child's teacher if you have any questions or concerns.
